“Wet leaves staining a newly poured concrete patio should be unwelcome, but a friend told me this image fills her with longing.”

Amy Locklin, Founder and Editor-in-Chief

The idea for alchemical mindset was to push back against ever rising education costs and an anti-knowledge climate disdainful of expertise that mistakes beliefs for facts.

Amy Locklin has been a university educator and nonprofit administrator for decades in the Northeast, Midwest and Southeast United States.

As a young undergrad and graduate student in theatre arts, she played the lead in a handful of projects: in a BFA thesis film, a TV, and a radio commercial. She also played Lucy in a full-stage production of The Rivals and the Narrator in her own script, I’d Just Die.

In Indianapolis, she performed for seven years as a semi-professional jazz vocalist, and her middle voice technique has improved considerably with continued practice.

Her in-progress science fiction detective mystery, The Case of the Organic Gone, takes place in a future when the environment and genetic engineering have gotten out of control.

Her full poetry collection, A Woman Somehow Dead, is a memoir in verse, which includes the story of her German grandparents immigrating to the US after World War II.

Everything in her previous experience led her to conceive of alchemicalmindset.org.

“I wanted a site to offer free education about knowledge often understood by only a few to be available to everyone.”
